Modern women! São Paulo through their eyes

Fleeing the Nazi persecution that plagued Europe and that resulted in forced migration, they arrived in Brazil and settled in São Paulo in the first decades of the 20th century. The city that they chose as their new home had, at that moment, gained the stereotypical image of “the largest industrial center of Latin America”.

To Walk Down from the Clouds – Leila Danziger

Starting July 30, the Museu Judaico de São Paulo (MUJ) will present To Walk Down from the Clouds, an exhibition by Leila Danziger displayed on the mezzanine level, a space set aside for exhibitions related to the Museum’s collection.

The exhibition also analyzes the resulting plurality of the different clusters of Jewish communities established in Brazil and how the customs that form the basis of Jewish life are affected by intergenerational dynamics, whether they are based on individual or collective experiences.
